How We Evaluate Vehicles

We use manufacturer support pages, vehicle configuration information and operator service pages. Links beside prices identify their sources. A model entry is a starting point for checking the exact year, trim, hardware and region.

Editorial guides identify when their sources were checked. Vehicle entries keep separate pricing review dates; publishing a new page does not reset those dates.

Catalog prices are eligible-trim starting MSRPs. Required optional equipment, subscriptions, taxes and fees may be additional. Destination treatment follows the linked source and is not uniform across the catalog.

Where the original source did not establish a model year, the catalog uses a reference year; this is identified in guide tables. Verify the actual order year. Unknown equipment costs stay unknown in our planner until you enter a verified amount.

Budget lists sort the catalog’s recorded MSRPs. They are not claims about the cheapest complete transaction or the lowest total ownership cost.

We review the manufacturer’s stated driver responsibilities and operating limits, then assign the vehicle to the matching JSL group. We check hands-free permission separately from eyes-off permission and record restrictions such as eligible roads, speeds, hardware and software. A system’s marketing name alone does not determine its group.
