Zoox Robotaxi: Where & How to Ride

Explore Zoox booking, Las Vegas and San Francisco access, fares and the purpose-built four-seat robotaxi before your first ride.

At a glance

Zoox is Amazon’s autonomous ride service. Its purpose-built robotaxi carries passengers without a steering wheel or pedals. Start with the Zoox app to check your access, pickup options and fare.

Where can you ride Zoox?

The city name is only the beginning. Zoox operates within defined areas, and access can differ between a public service and an invitation-based preview. A testing announcement or a city listed in an expansion plan does not establish that you can book a ride there.

How to book your first Zoox ride

For a hotel or venue, check the actual pickup location rather than assuming the vehicle will come to its main entrance. For an airport journey, verify the airport-specific instructions directly; nearby service does not establish terminal access.

  • Download the official Zoox app and set up your account.
  • Check whether your account can request a ride in the city you want.
  • Choose the pickup and destination offered by the app; inspect any walk to a designated stop.
  • Review the fare, passenger requirements and estimated wait before confirming.
  • Match the arriving vehicle to your booking, follow the boarding instructions and fasten your seat belt.

How much does Zoox cost?

Las Vegas rides have moved to paid service; do not plan a trip around older free-ride promotions. San Francisco preview access has been offered without a fare, but preview terms can change. The quote and conditions in the app determine the ride you are booking.

For a useful price comparison, check the same route and departure time in each service. Include fees, the pickup walk and the wait. A short promotional ride does not establish a typical citywide fare.

What makes the Zoox car different?

The four-seat cabin is arranged around riders facing one another. The vehicle was designed for automated ride-hailing rather than adapted around a human driving position. There is no passenger role equivalent to supervising a consumer driver-assistance feature.

Plan around the space and passenger rules, particularly if traveling with children, luggage or mobility equipment. Four seats do not establish that every group or item can be accommodated. Read the rider manual and contact Zoox about specific accessibility needs before relying on the trip.

Before you set off

  • Find the support control in the app or rider screen before departure.
  • Check the operator’s rules for children, service animals and luggage.
  • Keep a return-trip option if your destination is outside the operating area or hours.
  • Follow Zoox instructions if the vehicle pauses or you need help; do not attempt to operate its driving hardware.

Common questions

Can I buy a Zoox car?

This guide covers the Zoox ride service. Its purpose-built robotaxi is not a retail vehicle in our car-buying catalog; a ride fare is not a vehicle purchase price.

Can anyone book in San Francisco?

Preview access is invitation-based. Joining the waitlist does not guarantee immediate access; check the app and your account invitation.
