Understand the ProPILOT versions
Standard ProPILOT Assist is hands-on assistance. Nissan’s ProPILOT Assist 2.0 and 2.1 support hands-free operation on selected highways under specified conditions; Infiniti also offers ProPILOT Assist 2.1 on equipped vehicles. Hands-free operation still requires attention to the road and readiness to take control.
Both brands describe ProPILOT Assist 2.1 as using high-definition mapping to assist highway driving between on- and off-ramps. Equipment, available features and operating limits can vary by model, trim and model year. Check the exact vehicle manual and the appropriate brand’s compatible-road map.
Check the vehicle, equipment and price
Ask for a build sheet identifying the package, model year and trim. Obtain a written quote for required equipment and any activation or service plan. A vehicle’s starting MSRP alone does not establish the cost of this feature.
Nissan uses NissanConnect Services for the relevant ProPILOT service package; Infiniti uses INFINITI InTouch Services for ProPILOT Assist 2.1. Confirm the required package, activation, included service period and renewal terms with the appropriate brand. For a used vehicle, also verify service access and account activation after the ownership transfer.

Check the roads you actually drive
List the highway segments on your regular journeys and compare them with the manufacturer’s operating rules. In a demonstration, check when the feature becomes available and when it asks you to resume control. Follow the manual and driver-monitoring prompts throughout.
Questions to ask before ordering
- Which named version is installed on this exact vehicle?
- Which advertised features work with its current software and equipment?
- What limits apply to road type, speed and conditions?
- What is included in the quote, and what expires or renews later?
